Pope Francis Makes a Surprise Appearance, Leads Angelus Prayer Despite Recovery Period

Vatican City, LOGIC.co.id - Pope Francis once again drew global attention with a surprising appearance at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City on Sunday (April 6, 2025). Despite still being in the recovery phase following a severe case of pneumonia, the Pope appeared before the Catholic faithful and led the Angelus prayer with moving determination.

This appearance marks a rare moment, as the Pope had only been discharged from Gemelli Hospital in Italy two weeks earlier, following more than five weeks of intensive treatment.

“Happy Sunday to everyone. Thank you so much,” Pope Francis greeted as he was wheeled through the crowd that filled St. Peter’s Square.

Health Condition Showing Improvement

According to a report by AFP, the Pope’s health is showing positive signs of improvement. Although he was still using a nasal breathing aid, his voice was clearer compared to when he last appeared outside the hospital on March 23, 2025—though it remained somewhat faint.

This was also his first public appearance since February 14, 2025, marking an emotional moment warmly welcomed by the pilgrims and faithful in attendance.
