"We were curious after seeing so many posts on social media. But seeing it in real life is way more impressive!" Yeni said on Wednesday, April 3, 2025, as she toured the area with her family.

Similarly, Surtasiah from Hulu Sungai Utara, South Kalimantan, was left in awe by the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN. This area houses iconic structures such as the State Palace, Garuda Palace, and the Presidential Secretariat Office.

"The long journey was totally worth it for this breathtaking view," she said. Despite the hot weather and long queues, Surtasiah felt that the experience was truly unforgettable.

Grand Buildings as a Tourist Magnet

The KIPP area has undoubtedly become the main attraction. With its sleek modern government offices, including the Coordinating Ministry buildings 1 to 4, and futuristic architectural designs, this zone embodies Indonesia’s vision for the future. For many visitors, this was their first time witnessing such a well-organized and magnificent government complex. No wonder IKN is not only an administrative hub but also an emerging tourist hotspot.

Surging Visitors and Smart Solutions

The surge in visitors took authorities by surprise, causing transportation challenges at Rest Area Nusantara, a designated transit point for tourists. To ease congestion, officials allowed some private vehicles to enter the KIPP area under strict supervision.

Additionally, Troy Pantouw, Special Staff for Public Communication of the IKN Authority, announced an increase in shuttle buses from the previous fleet to nine units.
