Jakarta, LOGIC.co.id – Lisa of BLACKPINK had a taste of Indonesian cuisine during her LISA Fan Meetup in Asia 2024 at the Beach City International Stadium in Jakarta on Friday (15/11). She tried rendang, a traditional dish from West Sumatra that is famous for its rich and spicy flavor.
A Memorable Moment: Lisa Tastes Rendang for the First Time
The moment began when Indra Herlambang, the host of the event, invited Lisa to try an Indonesian dish she had never tasted before. Lisa was served a plate of rendang, which immediately piqued her curiosity with its delicious aroma.
“It smells really good,” Lisa said while taking in the aroma of the dish.
When Indra offered rendang without rice, Lisa asked, “Can I eat it just like this, without rice? Hot rice?”
Lisa’s Reaction After Tasting Rendang
Lisa’s expression changed to one of surprise after her first bite of rendang. She admitted that the dish was incredibly flavorful and she was taken aback by the strong spices.
She seemed to feel the heat after taking a bite, quickly reaching for a bottle of water. However, after drinking some water, Lisa returned to eating the rendang and described the spiciness as similar to black pepper.
“This is really good. It tastes like black pepper, and the [taste of] the meat is very strong,” Lisa said.
“The spiciness is different [from Thai food]. It’s like black pepper. It’s so good,” she added when asked by Indra about how the spiciness of rendang compared to Thai cuisine.

Fun Activities at LISA Fan Meetup in Jakarta
Apart from trying rendang, the event was filled with exciting moments. Lisa shared stories through photos of herself and took part in a game of truth or dare with fans who were selected for their best costumes.
Lisa also performed several of her hit songs, including LALISA, Money, Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me), Rockstar, and New Woman, bringing even more excitement to the event.
LISA Fan Meetup 2024 Tour
The LISA Fan Meetup in Asia 2024 marked Lisa’s first solo visit to Indonesia. After Jakarta, the event kicked off in Singapore on November 11, 2024, and then went to Bangkok on November 13, followed by Kaohsiung, Taiwan on November 17, and will conclude in Hong Kong on November 19, 2024.
Lisa’s visit to Jakarta came just a few months after she was busy with various solo projects. Among them was Rockstar, her first solo comeback in three years, as well as the release of New Woman, a collaboration with Rosalia on August 16, 2024.
