LOGIC.co.id – Drake’s infamous sports betting streak has claimed another victim—his wallet. The Canadian rapper once again suffered a massive loss after wagering a hefty $355,000 on Mike Tyson in the much-anticipated fight against Jake Paul.
Just hours before the bout between 27-year-old influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul and 58-year-old boxing legend Mike Tyson, Drake took to Instagram to share his betting slip. The slip revealed his significant stake on Tyson securing the win.
“I’m late, but I’m here. Money on the liiiiiiiiine for today and tomorrow @stake. I need some dubs,” the One Dance artist captioned the post.
Had Tyson managed to overcome his age and defeat his younger opponent, Drake stood to win a whopping $1,011,750. However, as millions of fans witnessed, Tyson couldn’t channel the power and precision that once made him a fearsome champion during his prime.
Despite neither fighter landing a knockout, Paul’s punches were nearly four times more frequent than Tyson’s, earning the YouTuber-turned-boxer a unanimous decision victory.
Drake, however, remains hopeful for redemption. In the same Instagram post, he shared another betting slip, showing a $450,000 wager on Jon Jones for his match against Stipe Miocic later that evening (November 16). Should Jones emerge victorious, Drake could pocket $954,000—more than enough to recover his earlier loss.

The Grammy-winning artist is no stranger to large bets and often shares his predictions on social media. Yet, his frequent losses have led fans to dub the phenomenon as the “Drake Curse.”
This year alone, Drake has lost over $2 million from seven major sports bets, including $300,000 on Canada in the Copa América semifinals against Argentina and $565,000 on Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk in May.
On the flip side, Drake has also secured some notable wins in 2024, raking in over $2.7 million. This includes a $1.15 million payout after betting on the Kansas City Chiefs beating the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, as well as $425,000 after Brazilian UFC fighter Alex Pereira defeated American fighter Jamahal Hill in the light heavyweight championship in April.
Conclusion
While Drake’s betting adventures often end in heartbreak, they also occasionally result in significant payoffs. Whether it’s a curse or pure coincidence, one thing is clear: Drake’s high-stakes wagers continue to captivate fans worldwide.
